Evangelina Perez
Evangelina grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Edgewood High School. She pursued higher education at Our Lady of the Lake University, earned her bachelor's degree from Trinity University, and completed her master's at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Perez began teaching at Las Palmas Elementary for 15 years and later returned to continue her success at Loma Park Elementary. Her devotion to teaching is providing her students with the necessary tools to be successful and ensuring they complete the school year. "Their desire to learn and exceeding my expectations is what motivates me each day." She calls Edgewood home and is proud of the area she resides in. "My colleagues make me feel as I'm part of a family." In her many years as an educator, she is grateful for the support from administration, teachers, and parents. As for being nominated Teacher of the Year, Perez says she was surprised. "I've been with the district for many years. It's great to know my hard work is still noticed."
